The Ventura County Library Foundation supports STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) learning, and believes children of today will need STEAM skills to be successful in tomorrow’s workforce.  The Foundation strongly supports the concept of implementing STEAM learning equipment, activities and spaces in libraries in Ventura County to introduce STEAM concepts to children, and foster a love of and appreciation for STEAM activities.   Sponsorship levels and needs vary depending on space available in the various library facilities.

The Foundation is currently working hard to raise STEAM Sponsorship funds in the amount of $50K to implement the Library System’s first Innovation Lab that will feature specialized STEAM equipment and serve as a STEAM learning hub for the community. 

A recent contribution of $1.5M from the State of California will enable the Fillmore Library to be expanded over the coming years.  The Innovation Lab will be a key part of the new expanded Fillmore Library which promises to engage, enlighten, and excite for generations to come!  This community gathering space will serve as a landmark facility in the community, and a center for lifelong learning and enjoyment.
